The term structure may be easily related to architecture as usually used in the software engineering discipline (the architecture specifies in the global system the set of modules and their interrelationships). However, in agent-based computing, the term architecture has sometimes been used to specify a specific type of agent (e.g. Beliefs–Desires–Intentions or BDI agents). Therefore, in order to avoid confusion, we prefer to use the term structure.
