Smart and Green Travel with Mobility as a Service

As the world faces pressing challenges related to climate change and urban congestion, the need for smart and green travel solutions has never been more critical. In response to these challenges, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) has emerged as a transformative approach to transportation that integrates various modes of travel, such as public transit, ridesharing, cycling, and walking, into a unified and seamless mobility experience. MaaS aims to revolutionize the way people travel, offering smarter and more sustainable options that enhance convenience, reduce congestion, and minimize environmental impacts.

This special issue invites contributions from researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the multifaceted aspects of MaaS and its potential to shape the future of transportation. We seek original research, case studies, and reviews that shed light on the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in MaaS with a particular focus on its role in promoting smart and green travel.

This special issue is open for submissions on the following topics including but not limited to:

Sustainable urban mobility planning and policies in the era of MaaS.
Integration of electric vehicles and renewable energy sources in MaaS platforms.
User behavior and adoption patterns of green MaaS solutions.
Environmental and social impacts assessment of MaaS implementation.
Accessibility and inclusivity considerations in MaaS design.
Technological advancements and innovations supporting green MaaS.
Intermodal transportation solutions for reducing carbon emissions.
Security and privacy considerations in MaaS data sharing.
Business models, governance structures, and regulatory frameworks for sustainable MaaS.
Data analytics and machine learning applications for optimizing MaaS operations.

We look forward to receiving your contributions and advancing the discourse on "Smart and Green Travel with Mobility as a Service". Together, we can pave the way for more sustainable and intelligent transportation systems that benefit both our communities and the environment.
