Call for Application of YSEB for Beverage Plant Research
Beverage Plant Research (BPR) is inviting interested and eligible early-career researchers to apply for membership to our Young Scientist Editorial Board (YSEB). BPR is published by Tea Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and China Tea Science Society in partnership with Maximum Academic Press. BPR is an international, open access, online-only journal (https://www.maxapress.com/bpr).
What will you receive as a YSEB member?
Our journal, BPR, plans to recruit several YSEB members who will work under the mentorship of selected associate editor(s), advisory board member(s), and the Editors-in-Chief to help with the mission of Beverage Plant Research, while earning very valuable editorship experience. Additional opportunities for involvement will include social media engagement, solicitation and contributions to journal content, participation in special issues as contributors, and many related functions. The Editors-in-Chief will award a Letter of Appointment to each YSEB member. Her/his academic information will appear on BPR' s official webpage, printed journals, and other official platforms during the term of service.
How will you serve as a YSEB member?
YSEB members are obligated to contribute to the journal by (1) acting as ambassadors for the journal and promoting it through social media, conferences, and other channels, (2) submitting one manuscript and/or soliciting two submissions of high quality papers (currently APC-free), (3) reviewing for the journal at least three times per year, and (4) attending editorial board meetings, YSEB meetings, and other activities called by the Editors-in-Chief.
Application Requirements
● Applicants must be active researchers employed by an academic, research, or industrial institution. In addition, candidates must hold a Ph.D. and have published at least five SCI articles as first corresponding author.
● Applicants should be under the age of 45, although this requirement may be waived for exceptional applicants.
Term
Finalists will serve an extensible 2-year term on BPR's YSEB.
Application and Selection
Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae (3-page maximum), including a list of published works in the latest 5-years and relevant peer-review experience, to the editorial office of BPR at: bpr@maxapress.com.
Potential candidates should be interested in the beverage plant research. Beverage Plant Research (BPR) aims to provide trusted scientific information related to beverage plant biology, beverage quality and chemistry analyses, beverage plant and human healthy. The beverage plant species mainly include, but not limited to, tea, coffee, cacao, hop, and others which is used for making non-alcoholic beverages. The journal publishes articles in all disciplinary areas of beverage plant research, including, but not limited to,
● germplasm evaluation and domestication
● genetics and breeding
● omics and functional genomics
● biotechnology
● physiology and ecology
● soil science and cropping system
● abiotic resistance
● interactions with external and internal microbes and insects
● biosynthesis pathways of the secondary metabolites
● profiling, characterizations on beverage quality (flavors, tastes, smells, blending)
● how the chemistry and biochemistry affect the beverage quality
● quality safety and control
● healthy function of secondary metabolites
● beverage plant and human health
● etc.
